Amazingly I saw another unimaginable sight the other morning when I went out to see the Aurora at 5am. I looked up and a large meteor raced across the sky going from white then turning to green as it exploded in the heavens just above me. If I could have jumped a little bit higher, I could be playing with the newly acquired toy!

The closeness, the brightness, the number of the meteors! Incredible.

I have read that you can see about 8 meteors an hour. Not back at my house in Japan. But, up here, in the far reaches of the North, definitely, yes!

Three beauties streaked across that sky that morning in only about 20 minutes.

The final of the three before I went inside streaked across Orion’s Belt.
