You would never expect it, but there was a beautiful firework display out here. Actually, very charming! With the Northern Lights shining in the background, it was almost mystical. Plus, with it being bitterly dry cold, the colors seemed to be brighter and more vibrant.

Well worth staying up for… Because it was on “village time”, the firework show didn’t start until about 1230. But, ironically, the prelude to the fireworks were the gun shots being fired from all around the village which began at 12 on the dot, and kept going all through the night.
